Aleph Isn't Tough: An Introduction to Hebrew for Adults (Paid link)

Start with this book if you don't know how to read Hebrew. It introduces the Hebrew letters 2 or 3 at a time, and gives you ample opportunity to practice reading. It is mostly oriented toward reading Hebrew prayers, but what you learn is applicable to all forms of Hebrew.
It uses vowel points! For the beginner, it is essential to see the vowels! It uses only a little transliteration, so you can't cheat. You have to read the Hebrew as Hebrew.
I was able to read Hebrew moderately well in 1959. I was no longer able to read well when I bought this book, but now I'm almost there!

A good introduction to the Modern Hebrew language. This book has transliterations of the Hebrew text, to assist with reading the Hebrew.
You should already know how to read Hebrew before you buy this book. The book to the left of this is excellent for learning to read.
