There are some advantages to using software programs for learning languages:
You can use the program anytime and anywhere that you have a computer.
The program is infinitely patient.
The program can be played over and over again.
Some programs are very inexpensive. This lets you try them out with little risk.
The disadvantages:
The program has no intelligence. It can not explain why you got something wrong.
The program can not know if you spoke something 100% accurately.
The program can not help you improve your accent.
Some are expensive. If you don't like the teaching method, you can not return the program or sell it.
