Policy for Students

Payment Policy
Payment is expected before lessons can begin. Payment may be made at the evaluation meeting.
Checks are to be made payable to Second Language, LLC.
$25 fee for returned checks. Credit Cards are accepted.
Our quoted prices are valid only when payment is received before lessons begin.
Our prices are lower than those of other language schools, and we pay our instructors a high percentage and promptly.
Unpaid bills due over 30 days are transferred to a collection agency.

Refund Policy
For group classes: No refund for dropouts after first lesson starts. If the entire group cancels after the first lesson, it is eligible for a refund of the fee minus a $14 cancellation fee for each student.
For individuals taking lessons: If you cancel after paying, you are eligible for a refund of the fee, minus a $18 cancellation fee, for lessons that you have not taken.

Refunds must be requested within 100 days of the date when payment is due. Unused lessons expire after one year.

Re-enrollment Policy
If you have taken classes from us, you can re-enroll at the same price within a period of six months from the last date on which you took classes from us.

Missed class Policy
If you do not show up for a lesson, you are charged for the lesson.
If you do not inform us or the instructor of a schedule change or cancellation at least 24 hours before the lesson was scheduled, you are charged for the lesson. Please telephone us for cancellations and changes.
At the end of each lesson, agree on the date, time and location of the next lesson. If you need to change it, email on the day of the change is not sufficient.
If the instructor is late (hardly ever happens) you are entitled to the full hour.
If the instructor misses a lesson (hardly ever happens) you are entitled to a free lesson.

Late Policy
If you arrive late for a lesson, the instructor is under no obligation to give you the full hour of instruction, since the instructor may have other appointments later.

Bad Weather Policy
We suggest that you cancel appointments when the weather forecast is for heavy snow, freezing rain or other extreme weather.
